Athol Granite Works was originally founded by Enoch T. Lewis in 1853 and continuously operated since that date. The
current owner, Richard D. Verock, apprenticed since 1972 and purchased the business in 1978. In 1989, Mr. Verock aquired
Dorsey Memorials of Amherst, MA as a branch location of Athol Granite Works Inc. The operation of these businesses
continues on their original sites. All design and carving is still done on the premises.
